The Case VAC model tractor was a part of the popular V series which included a range of small multi-purpose tractors for use on the family farm as well as many other applications. The V series was a replacement to the previous R series which had also enjoyed widespread acclaim.
The parts and components used in the R series came from outside manufacturers rather than from Case`s manufacturing operations. The 4 cylinder engine was a model from the Continental Motors company and the gears came from Clark.
V series tractors featured 4 speed transmissions, all-gear final drive, and many other standard and optional features such as PTO electric start up, improved lights, an adjustable front axle, and several different optional tread widths. 15,000 of the original V series tractors were made before Case rolled out the VA model.
Later the VAC model would become a highly respected machine as well. It featured many useful redesigns which have proven so useful that many VAC`s are still in use on farms today.
It utilized a steering system which was somewhat similar to the CC tractor but with an upward curving steering arm which was positioned closer to the hood. There were several variations of the VAC including the VAI, VAO, VAO-15, VAH, VAS, VAC-12, VAC-11, VAC-13, and the VAC-14
